Amanda Fonos
National Team Manager
Hello! I’m Amanda, and I share my life with two very spirited border collies, Icy and Tuxedo.
Side note: my older dog, Roxy, respectfully declined the team photo—Tuxedo’s enthusiasm was a bit much that day and when you're 13.5, you get what you want!
I’m honored to be named Team Manager for Canada’s IFCS 2026 team, and I couldn’t be more excited to support such an incredible group.
Agility has been a part of my life for nearly 12 years. What started as a fun way to connect with my dog quickly grew into a deep passion—for the sport, the community, and the powerful bond between handler and dog. Over time, I’ve come to appreciate the trust, strategy, and joy that agility brings to both ends of the leash.
I train at a national level and also love to teach agility (and other dogsports), sharing what I’ve learned and my passion with others. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, I continue to grow as both a competitor and an instructor.
My goal as Team Manager is to build not only the strongest possible team, but also a supportive and rewarding experience for every athlete and dog representing Canada. I believe in transparency, fairness, and open communication, and I’m committed to fostering a team culture rooted in respect and positivity.
If you have questions, concerns, or feedback, I genuinely welcome the opportunity to listen and improve.
Together, we’ll build a team that reflects the very best of Canadian agility!
