Kristie Smith and Kenna

I am so excited and proud to be competing with Kenna for Canada at the 2020 IFCS WAC. This will be our first time competing on the international stage, and we can’t wait to show the world that any dog can be a superstar!

Kenna is a 3 year old greyhound, and the first of her breed to be selected to the National Team. I have owned 3 dogs in my life, all of them greyhounds. Kenna is the second that I have trained for agility. Greyhounds may not be the most obvious choice for dog sports, but I have enjoyed the challenges we have faced and believe it has made me a better trainer and competitor.

Kenna is a work horse! She has always been very focused and work driven right from 8 weeks of age. She is constantly ready for her next job or our next adventure, whether it’s agility, disc, obedience, lure coursing, jogging, or summiting mountains. No challenge is too big, and no mountain is too tall.

Kenna was the 2019 Alberta/Northwest Territories Regional winner in the 24” Regular class, and finished 7th at Nationals. We are so thankful to our wonderful coaches and friends who have been supportive of our goals and aspirations from the very beginning, and we look forward to sharing this wonderful journey with you all.

Border collies of the world beware… here comes the greyhound!
